  57. COURSE TWO (Second year piano.)
  58. UNIT 1:  Learn to play 3-note chords (triads).  Play songs hands-together with triad accompaniments.  
  59. Speed-read in C minor and G minor hands-alone and hands-together.  Learn to read and play these music 
  60. symbols:  D.C. al fine, crescendo, diminuendo, accent, staccato, ritard and fermata.

  62. UNIT 2:  Read and play eighth notes in pairs in 3/4 and 4/4 time in rhythm exercises, melodies and songs 
  63. with accompaniments.  Learn about tempo markings:  Allegro, Moderato, Andante and Adagio.  Rapidly 
  64. identify and play 2-note chords and triads on the Grand Staff in flashcard exercises.  Develop play-by-ear 
  65. skills with "Mystery Note" and "Pitch Finder" in C and G Major and minor 5-tone scales with 2 notes 
  66. hidden.  Do "Musical Math" with hidden rests.

  68. UNIT 3:  Learn to read and play in a new G Major 5-tone scale.  Learn the 2/4 time signature.  Read and play 
  69. melodies and songs with accompaniment in 2/4 time.  Identify and play "by ear" the intervals of 2nds, 3rds, 
  70. 4ths and 2nds, 3rds, 5ths going up and down, in Interval Ear Training exercises.  Play 5-tone scales, patterns 
  71. and melodies hands-together in parallel motion (both hands playing the same notes and rhythm).

  73. UNIT 4:  Learn to play a "pick-up" or "upbeat."  Play folk tunes and melodies that start on "upbeats."  
  74. Practice special rhythm exercises to develop hand independence.  Learn to read and play melodies and songs 
  75. with accompaniments in the middle C position and the F Major 5-tone scale.

  85. UNIT 7:  Read and play dotted quarter and eighth-note pattern in rhythm exercises, melodies and songs 
  86. hands-together.  Read and play intervals, melodies, chords and songs in D Major and D minor 5-tone scales.

  88. UNIT 8:  Learn to read and play the interval of a 6th.  Learn how to make any 5-tone Major scale by a 
  89. pattern of whole and half steps.  Speed-read in all keys learned in Course One and Course Two.  Identify and 
  90. name all notes on the Grand Staff with and without accidentals.  Identify and name all intervals including 
  91. 6ths.

  93. COURSE THREE (Third year piano--Pop, Rock, Jazz and the Classics.)
  94. UNIT 1:  Read and play intervals of a 6th in both hands in C, G, D and F Major in Melodies, harmonic 
  95. patterns and folk songs.  Play broken triad accompaniments in a Classical style.  Play an "octave higher" and 
  96. practice "cross-overs."  Learn about transposition.  Play in a new F Major 5-tone scale position (the F below 
  97. low G).

  99. UNIT 2:  Review Major triads.  Listen and play back the notes of a Major triad in the order they are played.  
  100. Learn about the Primary Chords and how they have formed the harmonic basis of Rock music since the 50's.  
  101. Learn a new Rock rhythm and bass pattern.  Play the 3-note I, IV, V and V7 chords in C Major.

  103. UNIT 3:  Learn the 3-note I, IV and V7 chords in G, D and F Major.  Play songs in G, D and F Major with I, IV 
  104. and V7 chord accompaniments.  Play I, IV and V7 in the right hand with L.H. melodies.  Sight-read more 
  105. complex rhythms with dotted quarter/ eighth-note patterns in 3/4 and 4/4 time.

  107. UNIT 4:  Learn to read and play a single eighth note and eighth rest.  Play in the F minor and E minor 5-tone 
  108. scales.  Learn a new 3-note V7 Chord for Jazz and Blues songs.  Learn a new fingering pattern:  crossing 
  109. finger 2 over the thumb.  Play the classical "Alberti Bass" accompaniment pattern.  Speed-read hands-
  110. together melodies with chord accompaniments.

  112. UNIT 5:  Learn to read and play the intervals of 7ths and 8ths (octaves).  Play complex rhythm patterns to 
  113. develop hand independence.  Play "Mystery Chords" (chord patterns with hidden chords).  Learn to read and 
  114. play in the low-low C Major 5-tone scale position (two ledger lines below the bass staff).  Play single note 
  115. and interval flash cards to develop rapid recognition of ledger line notes.

  117. UNIT 6:  Play new fingering patterns (thumb-under and third-over).  Learn to play the full octave C and G 
  118. Major scales.  Play songs with melodies and chords in both hands in the full C and G Major scales.  Identify  
  119. intervals of a 5th, 7th and 8th in Interval Ear Training exercises.  Learn a new Jazz rhythm pattern.

  121. UNIT 7:  Review key signatures.  Name and play intervals of 2nds through 8ths.  Learn the full D Major and F
